KILLING THE SHEPHERD: THE LAST KEEPER

When Progress Becomes Erasure.

In the remote glens of Scotland, a quiet war is unfolding.

For centuries, rural familieskeepers, stalkers, ghillies, and croftershave lived and worked on the land. Theyve shaped it, protected it, passed it down. Today, theyre being erased.

Urban politicians, distant corporations chasing carbon credits, and rewilding activists with no stake in the land have a different vision: remove the people, let nature reclaim itself. But for those still clinging to the soil, this isnt conservationits displacement dressed as progress.

What happens when centuries of knowledge are pushed aside in favor of policy built in cities?

Whats lost when cultural survival is no longer convenient?

The Last Keeper confronts these questions head-on. Echoing the Highland Clearances of the past, it asks: is cultural genocide returning under a modern banner?
